Human Osteology Course We are pleased to announce an extension of the training opportunities provided by the Poulton Project; a 2-day human osteology course.. Over the last 2/3 years we have trained our own volunteers and some students in the Post-Excavation techniques used at Poulton. From next year (2010) we propose to expand this to a 2-day course. In preparation for that, we are trialling the course in August this year. The course will be on 26/27th August 2009, in a spacious facility with proper facilities: toilets, heating and a kitchenette. The course will cover:

However, people with some knowledge will benefit particularly from the chance to work with a wide range of material. All the course material has been excavated from the Poulton site. The timetable is:
Number are strictly limited a maximum of 8 people per course. The cost for the full two days is £50 per head. Note this does not include any meals or refreshments. This course is particularly useful to keen amateurs wanting to to know more about archaeological skeletons and also to degree students wanting to gain practical experience.
